Hello 2015!
Even though it seems like time flies so quickly, I definitely felt each moment of 2014 grasp my heart and carry me away day by day, minute by minute. Since a few years, I’ve set myself for goal to enjoy and embrace each and every second like it was my last… I have never felt more alive.
When January 2014, 12 months ago, hit our calendars, it felt like an alarm ringing in our heads. James and I had a lot of plans for Kayture. 2011 was when everything truly began, we were in our bubble in Switzerland, not really knowing where this blog would lead us or what we could really expect… 2012 was the year of discoveries, we got introduced to a whole new world and started understanding the wonderful gift we had in our hands. 2013 was when we became clever observers of the fashion industry, fascinated by the blogosphere and gently started taking our own risks. In 2014, we decided to be makers.
I have a feeling that 2015 has a special purpose that’s much bigger than anything I’ve ever experienced. I don’t know why or what it is… And, I don’t want to know. I want to wake up each morning and have butterflies in my stomach. Just like going on a date for the first time
It almost feels like a retrospective is unnecessary as we lived this year all together. Hand in hand.There wasn’t one day, one experience where I didn’t feel your presence with me… It might sound cheesy and all, and you might be surprised when I say that I truly love you guys (especially in ipsy-tipsy New Year’s Eve Instagram videos), but I truly mean it and am myself impressed by how important you became in my life. This blog always felt like an open diary to me. Not every moment of my life is perfect but I choose to capture the perfection in it, and looking back at it, it makes me realize that beauty lies within everyday if we choose to pay attention.
I hope that Kayture is this place for you where you know you can always come, in search of inspiration or escape. I want you to know that it’s somewhere you’ll always find positive energy, like a reassuring cocoon. In just a click : I’m here, right on the other side of your computer. Perhaps that way, we know, that we’re all never really alone as long as we all got each other.
2014 is the year where I sensed our relationship growing stronger the most. Not only because we reached our million on Instagram and Facebook or whatever… but because you cared, took the time to write, to interact, to stop and say hi in the streets, to make art, to write quotes. We became a community and you guys are the reason why Kayture won the blog of the year award : you took the time to write my name in that little blank space while you could have written millions of others… The moment as I heard the announcement left me speechless. I couldn’t believe that you guys did something that generous… I want to make sure that I give it all back to you.
Sometimes, when I work with a brand they’ll always ask me about my statistics and so on… Yet I feel like these abstract numbers don’t really represent how special our relationship is. We could be a million, 2, 3 or 5… Or we could be a hundred, knowing that you truly care, support my lowest and highest, take me as I am with my flaws, mistakes as well as achievements, humbles me to the bone.
In each up and down, you guys have always a kind word to say. What’s even more overwhelming is when you guys tell me that some articles, things that I said or wrote made you pursue your own dreams… Well that just makes me want to cry because that’s honestly all I could wish for. And also cause I’m a big ball of cheese… Sometimes you’ll even defend me and argue against haters, which is like… More than anything I could even ask for. Your involved is papable and it’s like standing up for a friend. When you guys wait for me outside the shows or send me gifts in my hotel rooms, I just wanna hit my head against the wall because it feels too surreal. I get really overwhelmed. I’ll never take that for granted. I want to thank you all individually and I hope I’ll be able to do it.
2014, brought some of the most wonderful experiences but to be totally honest, it’s really the moments spent with friends and my incredible team that I keep in my head and heart. We’ve been fighting this year like mad, going after our dreams, setting higher goal each time. If something didn’t work out, it wouldn’t let us down, it would give us even more rage and fire to keep going. Fiona joined our team and started working full time with us. She’s not only one of my best friends but also a soul sister that I feel like I knew all my life. And even though James and I aren’t in a relationship anymore, we’ve never been stronger team mates. What we’ve built together, it’s for life. No one at this point knows me better than him and living each adventure together is worth everything.
2014 meant following my heart. What I said on Instagram is exactly how I felt : music has been my life from a really young age and this year meant trusting my gut and working my ass off. I’ve been going to the studio everyday during my time in Los Angeles, doing vocal coaching classes, meeting with songwriters, producers, management companies, artists… And putting every experience into a song. These moments in front of my piano or with my friend and producer Lance Eric Shipp, letting our heart our hearts out to the melody were goosebumps worthy. I hope that 2015 will allow me to let you in on this. Once I feel ready for it.
The other thing that kept me very busy this whole year…and there goes the “secret” that I’ve been keeping for too long… is that I have been writing a book for almost two years now. You guys know how incredibly passionate I am about writing and I’ve been willing to do it for the longest time. I got the offer from a publishing house in early 2013 and signed the deal to start working on it during the summer of the same year. The book is almost finished now and no it’s not going to be a full on autobiography, nor is it going to be fiction. Also it won’t be a book full of pictures and no text. There will be a lot, and I mean, a lot of text but I think that only with it, you’ll really understand where I come from, what all of this is about and who I truly am from the inside. We don’t have a date of release yet, but soon is good enough.
You guys know that our second home is now in L.A and we’ll be taking off back again in just a couple of days on the 3rd of January. Being there makes me happy beyond words. Our upcoming months are already pretty much planned out but here’s what I’ll tell you… I don’t know where we are going, what will happen, what won’t. All I know is that I want to enjoy life to the fullest, be happy, have no fear and be surprised every single day. As long as I live like that, I’ll be satisfied with anything that comes along.

Thank you for this post, I really feel your positive energy, and I am also very happy because this 2015 have brought to me a very special present, our little daughter Ada, a dream that have become true. When I read your words about your dreams, I tried to apply them to my own dreams, and even now I can't believe that they have become true, I went out from hospital with little Ada in our arms crying a cause of happiness...
I have to tell you that I have found in Kayture lots of inspiring looks able to wear during my pregnancy, and now that Ada is one week old, I have recovered completly my weight before pregnancy, so I can wear everything!!!
I also would like to ask you for a post. A post showing how you organise your closet. I always have problems bc I do not have enought space, so I have to use my parents house room to store clothes between seasons. I imagine that you should have a similar problem, you will have more space, but also much more clothes! You seem always so perfect and organised, so I would like to know how you manage to do it.

What a wonderful post and photos! You've become my source of inspiration from the first time I saw your blog. You were one of the first, who made me believe that everything is possible and achievable, if you are persistent, inspirational and patient enough. Kristina, you're such an inspiring person. You always steal me a smile with each one of your posts. You push us to pursue our dreams, but unfortunately put them into practice is more difficult, and many of us didn't get to try, but I want to think we are getting ready for the moment when we take that big step.

I don't usually comment on your articles, but I've been following your journey from 2011 and I feel like I've been growing up with you ever since. It may really sound cheesy, but we're the same age and I can really relate to your passion for fulfilling dreams although my path has been completely different. I started following your blog in early 2012 and I saw it growing since. You never stopped getting better at what you do, I saw Kayture becoming bigger every day and I saw you and James always full of projects and successful ideas working always so hard to bring Kayture to where it is today. You and the Kayteam deserve your success and you deserve to be the Blogger of the Year so much !
Then, I want you to know that you're my very favorite blogger. Well, I know that probably thousands of people already tell this to you everyday, but it was important for me to tell you. When I say that you're my favorite blogger, it is not only because your posts are illustrated with the most amazing photos everyday or because you are beautiful and you have a great style, but also because even if I don't know you or ever met you I know that you are truly a kind person. I feel it in every post you write, in every word you say and every time you say "thank you" for what you have before asking for more even if you work so hard to get what you want. I love the way you are so close of your readers and how you always manage to show us. You're not pretending to be someone else than yourself, even when the success knocked at your door you stayed true to yourself, simple and close to your readers, and I love that. You did not became distant or cold. You're beautiful from the inside and that is what matters the most. You are a truly source of inspiration for me, and I hope it will keep going like this for a long time.
Well, I would lie if I told you you're my favorite blogger only for your kindness. Obviously I love what you do, the content of each of your posts which are always so positive and so beautifully illustrated by breathtaking pictures (James is da best ! haha). And I would say, in my quality of a French girl who knows how important style history and fashion industry are in my little country, that you have a great style. I love how your outfits are always so chic and elegant, yet so effortless (well, it seems to be so). Every day I read the posts of several fashion blogs, and when I have some time I even try to look for new blogs to discover, but Kayture remained my favorite since the beginning. You truly have a amazing sense of style, and... well, you make me appreciate new things. Like, can you imagine that before discovering your blog I used to never wear dresses or skirts ? Like, ever. And since I saw you with always so beautiful dresses or skirts, I started to think that it could be good, so I soon bought my first dresses at the age of 17 (still, I don't wear dresses so often, like once a month, but it's already a big change for me, the Girl-Who-Did-Not-Like-Dresses). Incredible, isn't it ? Just to say that thanks to you, my own style and taste evolve along with yours.
Well, now it's time to wish you again an happy new year, may 2015 be the year of all your projects' success ! I would love so much you to answer to me, but I know you have so many comments and lots of work everyday, and well it's okay. Bien que je sois au fond de mon lit, malade et prête à dormir, je vous devais d'allumer à nouveau mon ordinateur et laisser un commentaire sous ce nouvel article ! J'aurai tellement de choses à dire que je ne sais par où commencer. J'ai l'impression de me répéter mais tant pis... Encore une fois félicitations pour ce blog, qui aujourd'hui est bien plus que celà. Merci de nous transporter à chaque mot, chaque photo postée sur les réseaux sociaux, dans votre univers. De nous faire, le temps d'un instant, échapper de notre quotidien et rêver. C'est l'une de choses que j'aime particulièrement. Pour moi votre vie est "un rêve" et je pense qu'on a besoin, à l'heure d'aujourd'hui, d'avoir quelque chose qui nous fasse nous transporter, nous coupe de notre propre réalité un moment.Et quand je lis tes articles, regarde les photos de James, c'est comme si un autre monde s'ouvrait à moi. Comme tu l'as si bien dit dans ton article, vous me donnez l'envie de croire que nos envies les plus folles peuvent se réaliser, qu'il faut croire en ses rêves et se donner les moyens de les réaliser. Depuis que j'ai commencé à vous suivre en 2014, j'ai au fond de moi cette sensation de plénitude qui me réchauffe le cœur et me fait penser que je peux moi aussi me dépasser et surprendre mon entourage.
Parlons de choses sérieuses maintenant... Un livre !! Kristina Bazan il y a t'il quelque chose qui te résiste ?? Mais finalement ça ne m'étonne pas, toi qui écrit des chansons depuis toute petite, l'écriture d'un livre est une continuité toute logique. En tous cas tu peux être sûre que je serai là lors de sa parution ! J'ai peu r de m'étaler un peu trop, alors que j'aurai des tas d'autres choses à te dire, des tas d'autres remerciement à te faire. Je crois que 2015 devra être l'année où j'aurai la chance de te rencontrer et enfin je pourrai te dire personnellement toutes ces choses.

You are so freaking talented, I just discovered your blog trough your instagram, at first I taught you where on e of tthose pretty models but know I now your more than a photogenic girl, you are such a source of inspiration I'm so glad I discovered your blog.
