It wasn’t a dream

These last couple of days have been quite hard on me. As you might now, I am a non settling workaholic with a high FOMO syndrome. I’m all about grasping each and every opportunity, and chasing your dreams 24/7. After an amazing New York fashion week season, we finally landed in Los Angeles for the Oscars season. The Spirit Awards with Piaget was an incredible experience, not to mention the Elton John after party where we got invited by Chopard as their special guests. It was truly magical to be there and be surrounded by so many incredibly talented people.

As to the rest of the days, I had the most in-sane schedule planned out. After working on my music like a hard core psychopath (it’s the only thing my brain has been able to think about), incredible opportunities started shaping up and I had planned studio time with a few of my favorite producers. Enough to get me really excited and motivated to give my 200%. And what happens? My body decided to just shut down completely. Studio time? Recording incredible music? Wiring new songs with ultra talented folks? Meh.. nah. Let’s stay in bed with the flu instead!

Yup, I caught a nasty virus that got me paralyzed for 3 entire days. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t move, I couldn’t do anything but sleep. And being far away from my family, far away from anything close to the medicines I know, or an actual doctor or pharmacy I am common with didn’t really help. Plus, hard to get your hands on some home made food when you’re in an air bnb and six packed up suit cases. The actual, glamorous life of a gypsy. So yes, I felt extremely frustrated at first, especially knowing that we decided to skip Milan fashion week so I could move on with my music. But taking this down time made me realize how crazy the rythme we’ve been living on has been.

I actually ended up enjoying having some quiet rest. It allowed me to re-energize, clean my head and get ready for the next big adventures ahead. Everybody ended up being super understanding and everything has been rescheduled. We are leaving to Paris this Monday for another thrilling fashion week, and then soon back again in L.A to concentrate on music. I really wanted to write you guys as I’ve disappeared for a few days. Hopefully this set of images we shot in Paris during our magical stay at the Park Hyatt Place Vendôme will make it up. There’s truly no place like it. When we’re in town, it’s our home away from home, so relaxing and beautiful with such a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We shot this beautiful Elie Saab outfit in our Ambassador suite in the middle of the Couture shows. Can’t wait to be back in this magical decor.
