A day at the g.

Pictures by James Vyn

GETTING PAMPERED When the lovely Myriam contacted me to invite me at the G point, new hotspot based in Geneva’s Bongenie, to discover the place and especially to get my nails done at the new Nail Bar, I simply couldn’t say no. James and I were a couple of months ago at the Zürich Bongenie G Point opening, and we just loved discovering this whole new colourfull concept. Now the G Point has opened in Geneva, on the third floor and I am more than excited. So basically among all the high luxury brands which you can buy at the Bongenie, the G Point is mainly focused on more affordable and I would say much more ”funky” and youthfull creations. So you can find pieces from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Wildfox, Sam Edelman, Jeffrey Campbell, Msgm and so on while on the other floor you’ll be able to shop Lanvin, Miu Miu or Gucci. Of course the best part would be to mix up the two ideas, pieces from the G Point with the classic luxury designer. I had the chance to choose for the day a whole outfit and picked out this awesome navy blue two-toned dress from Msgm with a matching blazer and a lot of bracelets by Vita Fede, arm candy that’s what I am talking about, and was ready to get my nails done.

The nail bar is such a cool idea, usually you have to book an appointment at a salon to get a manicure, well at least in Switzerland it is usually that way. Myriam, such a beautiful and energetic woman, and her friend  were inspired by the manicure market as it is in New York or Dubai where it is done quickly in a laid back atmosphere. They came up with a great idea : a nail bar, where woman can just sneek in after their shopping for a relaxing manicure moment. No need to make a reservation, it is spontaneous, quick and fun. I decided to try out the new permanent nailpolish option, O.P.I are the first one who came up with this idea and I think it’s amazing if you don’t always have time to do your nails. The laquers come in all of their most popular shades and the manicure lasts for almost two weeks which is quite cool. As a huge fan of nude colour I picked out the Samoan Sand for a natural look. I just love this idea of coming for a couple of minutes at the nail bar after an intense session of shoe picking and lay down to enjoy this little treat. So, definitely a must try.
